About the President

Judy’s parents encouraged academics as well as the arts while she was growing up in Indianapolis. The fruits of those labors are apparent in all parts of her work and volunteer history. She saw her first opera “Aida” while visiting Italy, and yes there were elephants on the stage.

Living in Saratoga Springs, New York with her husband Ralph, she taught English history and was a counselor at the junior and high school levels. After retirement she remained involved with education, serving with teams of educators in the states on accreditation standards of secondary school programs.

Both areas of her involvement in education have taken her traveling through many states and into Mexico, Costa Rico, South America, Egypt and Morocco.

Judy’s arts volunteer involvement has also been extensive. When she and Ralph moved to Ogden, Utah upon his retirement, she found getting involved in the lively arts community was the way to meet like-minded individuals. She has served as president of the Ogden Symphony and Ballet Association, and is currently serving as president of the Ogden Opera Guild.

She is an avid tennis player who speaks fluent German and has some knowledge of Italian, French and Spanish.
